We practice hatha yoga in a fluid style, focusing on issues that are particularly relevant during pregnancy.

Laura has taught pregnancy yoga since 1995, and this experience, combined with her own pregnancies, has helped her develop a practice for:-

Creating space in the physical body for your growing baby
Reminding you to listen and trust your own body
Addressing particular ante-natal issues such as heartburn, indigestion, fatigue, piles, sciatica, symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD), lower back ache, varicose veins, aching legs and carpal tunnel
Bonding with your unborn baby
Toning the pelvic floor
Bringing a good blood supply to the pelvic area generally
Gently increasing the body range of movement
Releasing tensions and anxiety
Acceptance of your changing body
Gently building strength and stamina for an active birth
Breath awareness
Techniques and advice for labour and the post-natal period

We finish each class with herbal tea and cakes/biscuits.
There is plenty of time and space to make new friends, pick up advice, ask questions and pass on insights.

Baby Massage and Post Natal Yoga

From 6 weeks old.

Fridays, 10:00 – 11:15am
.

Please book ALL in-person or Zoom classes HERE

Wear loose, comfortable clothes for your own yoga.
You might want to bring your baby in his/her sleepsuit, and dress him/her afterwards (to avoid changing twice in one morning).
Bring two towels for the massage and a spare muslin for mopping up any unexpected wee.

Babies lie with us while we practice post natal yoga. We focus particularly on:-

Relaxation
Bringing awareness gently back to the abdominal area
Strengthening the abdomen from the deepest muscles with breath control (pranayama)
Gradually toning the pelvic floor
Special exercises for breast feeding mothers and Reconnecting with your body.

After the hatha yoga, we move over to the massage area to massage our babies together. This is often an intimate, bonding experience.

We finish each class with herbal tea and cakes/biscuits. Often the babies will fall asleep while mothers chat.

Baby Yoga and Post Natal Yoga

From about 16 weeks to crawling.

One-Off Class – Sunday 15th August – 10:30 to 11:30am

Limited Places. BOOK HERE.

Baby Yoga classes at The Yoga Hall are a welcoming place to connect with your baby through movement and touch. Post Natal Yoga and Baby Yoga are interspersed throughout the class encouraging both mother and baby to be present in the body in order to understand and relate to each other. Classes combine flowing movement, songs, games, holds and lifts in a relaxed environment. The high quality physical stimulation a baby receives during a class helps him/her to sleep more soundly and to be more settled. Digestive and nervous systems are also stimulated contributing to a contented and healthy baby.
After class we have plenty of time for tea and cakes/biscuits, to make friends, ask for advice and share insights.

Wear loose, comfortable clothes for you and your baby.

R&T

Thank you for all your support over the past year. It has been lovely to have somewhere to come where I’ve know I will receive a warm welcome and can relax without being judged – especially in those early weeks with a refluxy newborn! It has been a real sanctuary and much of that has been down to your personal warmth and kindness – so thank you. PS The molasses cookies were great too!
